SERG Facilities
The SERG Riverside Laboratory – Studio 54
In November 2001, SERG relocated
to upgraded facilities in the Riverside Laboratory – Studio 54 at the St
Lucia Campus of The University of Queensland.
This 180m2 self-contained facility contains an electronics
laboratory, composite materials laboratory, vehicle garage, mechanical
workshop, design studio, administration office and full amenities including
kitchen. Being equipped with a 100A 415V
3-phase feed supply, the laboratory is well suited to full-scale testing of
electric vehicle powertrains and other power sources such as fuel cells and
micro-turbines.

New Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Laboratory
In 2009 a new laboratory dedicated to research on fuel cell systems and associated technologies such as hydrogen production will be opened up on the 5th floor of the Hawken Engineering building.
School and Faculty Facilities
SERG also utilises a number of workshops and laboratories housed within the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering, Physical Sciences and Architecture. Special mention must be made of Mr Keith Lane and Mr Wayne Jenkins from the faculty mechanical workshop service for their assistance with SERG projects.
