Abstract: 

Cross-modal hashing is an effective and practical way for large-scale multimedia retrieval. Though there have been a rich line of work in this area, it is still challenging to generate high-quality binary codes to preserve inter-modal (i.e., between modalities) and intra-modal (i.e., within one modality) semantics, especially in unsupervised and semi-supervised manner. In this seminar, we will introduce two cross-modal hashing work on these two fashions, respectively.

Biography: 

Jiasheng Duan received the Master’s degree in Information Technology from The University of Queensland in 2018. Currently, she is working toward her PhD degree at the UQ Data Science Group. Her research interest focuses on large-scale cross-modal hashing.
