Overall Goal: To bring together researchers at the leading edge of complex systems modelling to learn about and develop Patterns for the field.
Specific Aim: To develop submissions for the peer-reviewed Complex Systems Patterns Workshop II at ACAL*05.

6 June (Day 1)

8.30 – 9am Registration and coffee
9:00 – 10:30 Session 1
Introduction to patterns and their application to Complex Systems. Includes patterns-demo software as a demonstration of both the concept of software development patterns and how patterns can be applied to complex systems modeling, using visualization of network interactions as a case study.
10:30-11am Morning Tea
11–12:30pm Session 2
Discussion of workshop aims.
Small group workshopping of submitted patterns.
Presentation of small group results to whole group.
12.30-1.30pm Lunch
1.30-3pm Session 3
Identification of problem areas in complex systems modelling (algorithm design, visualization, analyses, …).
Suggestions for potential patterns to address problems and development of proposals for ACAL submissions.
3-3.30pm Afternoon tea
3.30-5pm Session 4
